The process I use is passed down from a 30 year Saab dealer mechanic. Back when the dealer was regularly rebuilding manual transmissions. Be careful of the trans/engine bolt on the pass side closest to the flywheel. The one with the larger thicker washer. I've seen that bolt left out on two cars. On one of them the trans oil was almost gone in a few months.
