I fixed the problem today by replacing the motor and when done I took a look inside the housing on my old one. Thanks Tom, for that suggestion. Here's what I learned, some of it the hard way. I should have reread this thread before opening the old motor's end case.
1.I fixed the problem with a new used motor from Steven Mitchem. It is possible to R&R the motor without removing the rest of the mechanism if that part is okay;
2. Parking is controlled by a gear that is driven by the other end of the pinion that drives the wipers. It has a plastic splined shaft and the wheel that control the parking function mounts on it. It is grooved and the fingers that control the current to the motor are inserted into it;
3. My motor was parking incorrectly because the wheel had cracked and rotated around from the correct position. I'm gluing it now and will see if it will work after the repair. I'll plug it in and see where parks just running it without the linkage;
4. If you have a motor that's doing the same thing mine was, you may be able to repair the gear and correct the parking;
5. If you have a dead motor, save it or the just the linkage and the gear for use in future repairs;
I hope this helps other 900 owners who run into the same problem.
Sam
