Justin,
Thank you for your posting at TSN!
Your earlier statement with regards to your loose cylinder head hardware might suggest that the installer may not have followed proper methods for installation, wherein your re-torque may have fully resolved. Another possible scenario would be that the yield hardware may have been reemployed. The hardware, once stretched/yielded should never be reinstalled as they would never allow for proper torque specifications plus all hardware has been compromised and provide less strength. We have had a few customers report loosened hardware after only a short period after re-torque..one even reported that they could tighten their hardware by hand! You might consider purchasing all new hardware and installing if there is any doubt as to it's integrity.
1985 was also our favorite year for the B202 engine as the crankshafts are typically the best known forgings, as compared to any other year to 1994. The 1985 cylinder head castings also allow for the most vast improvements, if modifying as these always allow for the best flow. A ported 1985 cylinder head will always outflow a ported B212 cylinder head or any other B202 casting in later years.
Your engine running conditions, which you say are improved, may have also allowed for better combustion, which should allow for better performance, as well as an improved vacuum at an engine idle condition. This improved vacuum should be more adequately purging the crankcase when at engine idle.
Thanks again for your posting, and we will look forward to hearing as to your progress!
Sincerely,
Gary K. at SWEDISH DYNAMICS, INC.
