mushy brakes Posted by Notnoel [Email] (#23) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Notnoel) on Sat, 3 Aug 2019 13:10:35 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Just replaced a leaky caliper (rear). I rebuilt both rear brakes and bled the whole system front and rear (diagonally as recommended by Bentley)- used an entire quart top flush the whole system. I have firm brake pressure when the car is off, but as soon as I start it and the power booster kicks in, the pedal is very very soft - only engages at half hay to the floor. I can pump it up some, but it is no where near adequate.
Bentley trouble shooting guide suggests I have a bad master cylinder. its sat for several days and i don't see any signs that a line is leaking. I have a 2 year old master cylinder (brand new TRW) and a rebuilt power booster. So I am having a bit of trouble mentally accepting that my near new master cylinder has crapped out.
Anybody got any other ideas? Am it missing something,
