OK folks, I'm in process and will share what I've got.
Battery is AOK. Confirmed when key in START position, yellow wire to solenoid has nothing.
Backed up to center console; disassembled for inspection.
Previously ignition switch assembly is NEW. With terminal 50 Yellow/red strip wire lifted, 12.9V confirmed in START position. Ignition switch confirmed AOK.
Using Bentley wiring diagram 371-132 for 91 plus (Vert shows build date 12/90).
Traced Yellow/red strip wire to just under backseat; jumper plug found and confirmed continuity from ignition switch end to jumper wire connector in back seat (right behind carpet vertical). Per Bentley, the 92's+ have the alarm control under rear seat, but not my 91.
Per schematic, Y/R wire travels next to H29-1 bulkhead connector beneath main fuse/relay panel.
Been in that neighborhood once when the car was converted from autotragic-> 5 speed; prefer to never see it again.
Last in schematic prior to solenoid connector is J29. I cannot find a definition of this but sure looks like a single wire junction connector with YELLOW in/out leading to starter solenoid.
Anyone ever laid eyes on this J29? Logically it might be buried in the drivers corner where several bundles of wires are tied together (and ABS reservoir lives). I hate to start disassembling the black sleeves over the yellow wire working my way back toward the main fuse panel. My gut says this connection is the likely suspect.
Thanks in advance for assistance..... obviously a running C900 is more useful than what I've got.
