Bingo! It finally runs!

As an addition to the original post-

-Fuse #3 (Ignition system) was blown. Replacing it did not resolve the no start condition.

-The coil resistance testing was normal for the primary circuit and high for the secondary. I still had no spark at coil lead or spark plugs.

- rechecked the wiring to the hall effect. Continuity was good, and I was getting injector firing.

-I checked the ignition control module per Bernie's post. All looked normal.

-Checked and rechecked the distributor and spark plug leads installation.

-During the testing of the ignition control unit, I noticed that the plug to the APC box was completely loose. I thought for sure I'd found the problem.

After all that, nothing changed.

In desperation, I decided to throw a new coil at it. It fired up immediately. I was stunned. Tweaked the timing and took it for a 10 mile drive. It seems to spool up quicker and with more boost than before. Possibly because of the 010 dizzy instead of the older 007?

This process has been an education for me as I've done quite a bit of mechanical work on various cars for 50+ years, but I'm more in the basic realm when it comes to automotive electronics.

One thing to note is I had been taking it for granted that the fuel pump was not being energized because I never heard it. Somewhere on a forum I read that some fuel pumps are so quiet you can't hear them. I think that is the case with this car. My hearing ain't that bad, but I only heard the fuel pump when I jumped it at the fuse box. It may have been working all along. I never cracked open the fuel rail to see. I came darn close to pulling the knee bolster to get at the fuel pump relays. I'm glad I didn't. All I have to do is put the carpet and trim back.

Thanks for all the comments. Bernie, your step by step process was very educational to my figuring out how the electrics work. In the 90s this forum saved me when transplanting a 16v turbo engine into my '80 5 door. Amazing how helpful this has been, even though most discussions have gone over to FB.

Thanks!
