I re-did my seal a while back and had a look at the oil pump while I was at it. I was sold the seals for the pump, but I never saw them when I disassembled the pump! Where are they?
I don't think I'd replace the front seal if it's not leaking. It's difficult to get it installed at exactly the same depth as the original, and if you don't get an exact position match, that can cause the new one to leak a bit. Mine settled down pretty quick, but I still think that if it's not leaking to start with, maybe it should just be left alone. If I were going to do anything extracurricular, I think I'd just do the relief valve and spring, as the spring tends to get weak over time, and I've had relief valves get cocked and stick open before (although it was on older Audi 5000's).
