Well for those of you in the Pacific NW(Seattle & Oregon, etc.) you'll know of the beauty of this drive.
Tuesday morning I had drive from Portland to Coos Bay (home of Prefontaine), for (gasp) a job interview.
This was the first drive of more than an hour straight in this car. I'll admit, the distance made me nervous. That said, I used to drive from Monterey, CA to Portland, OR and back regularly while I lived in California in my 900s and it had no issues at all..
Anyhow, I've just got to comment on what a comfy trip it was, with the new CD player going and the weather absolutely perfect the drive couldn't have been better.
The highway in question is State #38, it heads west, toward the coast and winds through mountain roads, stretches of farm land, and follows the Umpqua River.
I kept it under control (mostly) and cruised at 75mph (120+ kmh) the entire way...
I didn't burn any noticeable trace of oil and spent about $20 usd on fuel for a 4hour trip averaging 65 mph..
I hope to have this car for along time to come, with it being an autobox, I'd love to find out if the dreaded repair has ever been done!
