Don't take it so personally. There's not a car made that doesn't have some problems that are the manufacturers fault. As an example, every one on this site keeps going on about Saab automatics. I'm in the car business and see every kind of car you can name with transmission problems, sticks and autos, at around 100,000 miles. Hondas, Toyotas, Acura, Lexus's you name it. Just because you had a problem with a Saab doesn't mean you have to go around with a chip on your shoulder about all Saabs. I had a BMW 325 break a timing belt at 62,000 and wreck the valves. They get an oil leak in that area that can't be seen without pulling the belt cover. Does that make all BMW's bad? Lighten up.
