Thanks guys, yes the alarm system works. That's the strange part. Always in the past when the door locking wouldn't work, it was just a blown fuse and I would replace the fuse and the problem was gone. This time the fuse is fine. There may be a problem in the wiring because the door, (due to an unfortunate encounter with an imovable object) is a 1993 door, the car is 1995. When I first installed it, there were a few electrical glitches. The window switch on the console was backwards (up instead of down) solved by reversing the wires to the motor, and the passenger door lock blew the fuse consistantly (solved by diconecting the wires entirely. The drivers door then only activated the central locking (a perfectly aceptable solution for me) So I have some diagnosis to do today. Thanks for your suggestions. I'll let you know how it comes out.
