I'll need to eventually replace the shocks on the Aero. I picked mine up with 65k on it and it now has 73k. I have noted several folks in the BBS system that had replaced their shocks even though the "bounce test" indicated they didn't need to, or that they wanted to put in "new" anyway, and they noted remarked improvement in handling ..
If you have an Aero, at what mileage did you replace your shocks? What brand and why?
If the bounce test fails, whats next. On the Gen BBS there is a new post about noting the amount of nose/tail rise/dip under accelleration. Can anyone lend credence to this theory?
On my car, I have a theory.. based on the corrosion type on the car, and the volume of chips on the hood, my guess is this car spent much of its days crusing the highways in the greater Boston area, and as such the shock would be beat to apulp by 50k.. .
I am going to the track days at the SOC and having poor shocks will not be a pleasant thing... so.. is 73k way to early to change out shocks?
