First off, MB quart is a fine speaker, but not in anywhere near the same price class as what Jason is talking about, the Polk EX402. Apples to Oranges there. Also, I believe you meant to say the MB Quarts come with outboard crossovers despite being coaxial. 99% of the coaxial speakers on the market do not have outboard crossovers, and that's a major reason many people go with them instead of components.
As for the power handling, there is no 4" on the planet that is going to reproduce bass accurately at anything more than low levels, in the free-air configuration present in the 9000 dash. Now if you can seal the back, or better yet, make a ported enclosure, things will improve dramatically, but you still are constricted by the small cone area, low excursion, and high resonance frequency present in all 4" drivers. Don't expect much of anything below 80 Hz in the best case scenario, though 120-150 Hz would be much more common. That's the bottom 2-2.5 octaves..
