I've had both too, and the turbo is great fun to drive. I think you've got the answer with your 900s. Performance should be very similar. Fortunately, you are looking at a 5spd, which gives you more power, and control over that power.

Compared to the turbo, the non feels underpowered. Compared to other 4cyl cars, it feels fine! I liked the performance of my non turbo. You need to give yourself a bit more time merging into traffic, and more time to pass on a two lane. At hwy speeds, no difference. 90% of your driving no difference. Knowing what you could have, you decide the difference. For me it was a couple of tickets in the first year after switching over to turbo. It's just sooo easy to get going fast...

If I were in your place, I would be giving this car some VERY serious consideration. Sounds like a good car at a good price. You may even be able to dicker. Also likely that it has not been beaten, which means that the clutch will last longer, and other components too. Also a bit less to go wrong with the car with no turbo, bpc, etc. Also, I think leather is way overrated. The cloth feels warmer in the winter, cooler in summer, and is pretty durable, I think.

This is a great car. In the turbo version, a lot zippier. If you are doing a lot of hwy driving, it is a good choice. I also think you may pick up a mpg or two, which means 32+ on the hwy!
