You really do love this stuff.
Couple things...
I think I've found a $20 venturi style vacuum 'generator' at an air parts distributor, so I'm at least going to look at it on Monday morning before giving those guys $100 to do it. So, question, which side do you hook it to?
8oz of ester is too much? Townsand specifies 8oz & 1.9lbs of R-134a.
I got 4oz of mineral oil out of the new compressor. Is that most of it?
I did already replace the high side hose (compressor to condensor). It came off pretty easily (with my brand new 27mm wrench). I have not messed with the other one on that end.
I suspect at this point that this system had a major overhaul at some point before I got it. Until the compressor started going, it was working way too well for a 13 year old A/C. Plus there's the patched hose I mentioned.
