...a boat, and old snowmobile trailer, and gear out the wazzoo what would you use? I think people that live different lifestyles shouldn't be SLAMMED because they have more children, or a few more toys etc. I drive a 91 9kT, it's big enough for what I use it for. My wife drives a 01 Suburban, and it gets maxed out frequently but still gets excellent mileage for its size (19-20 hwy) and will protect my children better than anything out there (under $35k). Sure we could have bought another 9000 that gets 20-28mpg, but we would be driving both everywhere and be getting 10-14mpg, how practice is that.
Too many people are making quick assumptions that there is some bachelor driving that big behemoth next to you on the freeway. Well, I'm sure that is the case sometimes, but in many cases they are being used for what they were designed for and to their fullest capacity, or should I say glutten for capacity?
Thanks for your intelligent, well thought out post.
