Got the book out, It lists 2.6 to 3.8 ohm full and 68.2 to 69.2 ohm empty. Do you have a multi-meter? At the transmitter , next time youve used about 9-10 gallons check the resistance of the transmitter. 1/2 tank should be around 36-37 ohm. (pins 1 & 3 of the transmitter, should be black and grey wires, the green is for the light) Alternativly you could get a 37(ish) ohm resistor and put it across pins 1 & 3 of the harness and check the gauge, should read about 1/2 tank. The book shows the ground (black) and the signal (grey) going though the EDU before anything else. So lots of connections that could be loose or dirty, that would cause a lower reading.
