LDH, quite honestly, there isn't much you can do at this point but reassemble the engine. your diagnosis should've taken place before you removed the head. first and most important, a cylinder compression test. this will always show the basic cond. of the motor. any significant variation between cylinders, you then inject an ounce or 2 into the cyl. re-test and if you notice an increase its the rings or walls, if no change its the valves. bent or burnt. check proper TDC (with valvetrain, block and ignition) at this point i would have the head checked and renew the head gasket. then start over.
