If your car is equipped with EZK Anti-Knock your not going to be able to do much except possibly screw it up as the computer sets the timing. To determine which way to turn it to advance it, pull the distributor cap and have someone hit the starter for a second. Turning the distributor in the direction the rotor is spinning will advance the timing.
