and it turned out to be the coolant temp sensor on the radiator would stick. The fan would run until the the Fan Relay Timer would cut it off, often running down the battery to where it would not start the next day. Try this: after you shut the engine down, let the fan run for a few minutes to actually cool the system down. (3 to 5 minutes should be enough.) If the fan is still going, gently thump the temp sensor and see if the fan stops.
The fan timer relay should cut off the fan after 10 minutes; if it doesn't, then that is likely your problem.
