I think I installed it the correct way. There was a pin in the tranny (sticking up) so i pulled it out and stuck it in the speedo sensor so that the groove would line up. Then I screwed the speedo+pin back in the tranny.
Nothing changed.EDU reads/ garbage 2.0/4.0, mpg/mpg0. As for electric connections, if you are refering to where the sensor connects to a wire in the false bulkhead, then I did clean that connection. further, I did take dash off, and saw no corrogen on the cluster of grounds on the far left (under the vin plate) not did I see anything wierd on the back of the instrument cluster itself.
From this I concluded that the instrument itself might be fried. Since someone (Lu i think) told that the needle is actually a voltmeter I assume that something is burnt, etc inside.
Lastly, i do have a the instrument panel of 86 BUT it can't be a direct swap cause of the cable used on the 86...so I was thinking of taking apart the speedometer of 86 and trying to see if the guts are interchagable
(Now is a good place for advice) <--4 dimensions, russian joke.
