for some parts, and checked a new 2002 9-3 Turbo Anniversary Ed ( nice car, red/black leather 5dr hatch for $40k Cdn ( $25k US )). The "straight" side of the hooter valve is towards the "low pressure" ( air cleaner ) side of the turbo. The "right angle" side of the valve is towards the "high pressure" ( throttle body ) side of the turbo. Couldn't see where the control hose went though.
This agrees with some detailed pictures I found on Ebay of a 2000 9-5 2.3T; it shows the valve installed the same way. This is the way Quasi's site says it should go, but it conflicts with a Saab drawing found on Townsend's site.
Once the car goes back on the road I'll do some checking either way, and monitor the pressure at the control hose too. Right now I'm repairing the washer reservoir, the RHS headlight, replacing the thermoswitch, thermostat and coolant, fixing the mount for the APC valve, replacing upper motor mounts, fuel filter, and probably a few other things I can't remember right now.....
