First, BillJ, let me say that I have no Saab automatic experience personally. Some on this board think I unfairly bash the auto box, but I just report what I hear. However, based on what I've heard, I've always suspected that the longevity of the auto box is inversely proportional to how much torque has been applied to it. Also, I wouldn't expect an LPT car to need motor mounts or suspension bushings. If you can find one that's been driven as a means of comfortable transportation, rather than a hot rod (again, decent chance of that with an LPT), then I would think it would be pretty reliable.
