Hi, Simon. Is this a Griffin, by any chance?
Did you ever find out what a "kickdown motor" is? I assume it's another "fly-by-wire" bit that controls the kickdown instead of the cable on non-TCS models. And did you get a list of error codes from the TCS?
Anyway, they may be hard to find, but you might want to talk to one of the bigger Saab dismantlers. Two-Stroke-To-Turbo and Neo Brothers are two that spring to mind local to me (just outside the M25). They each claim to be Europe's biggest supplier of used Saab parts, so they must both be big :)
They also both know what they're talking about. One thing I have found with Neo Brothers, though, is that if you don't call something by the same name that they do, they won't understand. I asked repeatedly for a turbo bypass valve to no good effect until I pointed to one and they said "Oh, a *dump* valve!"
In my experience, Two-Stroke will always quote a few quid more than Neo Brothers. However, I have had some success in bargaining with them.
They both do mail order, and I can't imagine the parts you want are very heavy.
As for not wanting to "talk", I can't imagine that this would happen if you have the right parts and they're not faulty. TCS parts have changed over the years and some may not be compatible with others. I believe the TCS needs to be calibrated after replacing certain parts, though, which needs the special Saab tool. Your Saab mechanic or a dealer should be able to do this.
