boost problems well documented. gave up trying to unscrew knock sensor. are saab designers double jointed freaks?
which leads me on to my 02 question.
out of interest i disconnected the sensor (under the black plastic guard at windscreen), 5 mins later the check engine light came on. i left it for another 5mins, i detected no change in engine speed/noise, it was maybe slightly smoother with it DISCONNECTED)
i took it for a quick drive - performance was identical - boosted into red, thenm by 3/4k revs the boost hit 2/3 yellow. the economy was slightly affected immediately it went down an indicated 2mpg.
My question - should i see identical boost levels/performance levels?
if the sensor IS faulty - why is the check engine light not on constantly?

I reconnected whils stopped at petrol station - again no change in engine note etc. on way home performance was identical again. hmmm. i think (but probably wrong) that a disconnected 02 sensor SHOULD affect performance/boost?

anyway any light shone in my direction appreciated!
