For a hundred quid, it should sing and dance.
No question, there is use to some of the fancier measurements. But $150USD can be pretty scary for someone buying a meter the first time. A cheap meter in hand is better than an expensive meter you haven't summoned up the courage to buy. My approach is that if you're going to go inexpensive, get as simple as possible, so those few features are probably better quality than a similarly priced unit with a lot more features, but not as well implemented.
Once you learn how useful a meter can be, andn decide how often you'll use it, then you can go out and buy a nice one. The old one now sits in the bottom of the toolbox for trips, and you're not as worried about getting oil on it, etc.
After years of buying cheap meters that lasted about two years, I broke down and bought my nice Fluke. It's a joy to use. But I still have a few cheap meters lying around, to go into the toolbox when I go on vacation, or to live in the garage (the Fluke lives in my basement workshop, but comes out to play when necessary).
