I think this might be the valve that Euro Car Parts sells for £104 + VAT. No idea what the dealer charges for it. Could it be, as you suggested, that the wastegate lever is binding? So it stuck in a more open postion yesterday, now it has closed a bit and stuck there? You said you couldn't move it by hand, and you really should be able to (although the wastegate lever on the TD04 is a little harder to reach than on the T25 turbos).
