Now is a perfect time to determine the health of your timing chain.
First, inspect the chain and cam sprockets for signs of wear. The chain should feel VERY taut.
Next, turn the engine over until you get to TDC for cylinder #1. There are marks on the cams, and on the cam bearing pillow blocks. See how closely the marks align. If they align very closely, then the chain has little or no wear. If the marks don't align, that implies chain wear, and you'll probably want to think about doing a timing chain job.
For the few extra $$, get yourself a new upper chain guide. This is just a rubbery block that fits into the top of the valve cover. They wear out and dry out over time, and that can contribute to a noisy chain.
Look for signs of excessive wear on the cams, and that the oil tubes are secure.
Good luck!
