Difference between S-02 and S-03

I believe the main difference between the S-02 and S-03 is that Bridgestone have figured out how to provide longer tyre life on the S-03 without compromising the performance from the S-02, and in fact they also claim to have improved upon the S-02's performance. I understand the S-02's tyre wear was abysmal. The S-03 still isn't outstanding in that respect, but I think my poor treadwear is largely down to me pushing the tyres to the limit at every opportunity.
I don't think the tyres can be terribly different, performance-wise.
I haven't seen those reviews. Which magazines were they in, and are they still in the shops? I have yet to see a poor review of either tyre, but things do move on. You're quite familiar with my experience of the S-03s, so I won't go on about it, but it's interesting to hear someone else's opinion. One thing I do notice, though, is that part-worn S-03s seem to give better grip than new ones.
Finally, what makes you think the S-02s leave a lot to be desired? Which tyres did your Carly have fitted when you bought it, and how do they compare?
