You'll notice big impacts after you've just reset it, because you haven't accumulated that much data (small integral, I think they call it). After you've driven a couple of hundred miles, it takes a lot of idling to have any appreciable effect. I've noticed an appreciable effect when charging the AC, beacsue there's a lot of fast idling involved with that.
