Do you lay the valve in some sort of jig when spinning it? And which end does the dial indicator contact? What does a bent valve sound like? Fortunately, the valve only protruded a few mm, so I don't think it could have hit the piston crown. It was enough to prevent the valve from seating, however. Maybe this is the real reason the car wouldn't run before, although it doesn't explain the coolant in the cylinder.
