But in the pre-GM era, Saab filters were manufactured by Mann, but in the past 10 years or so they have been re-badged Delco PF-53's, unless something has changed in the past three or four years, the last time I saw a Saab filter. Even the color is the same, but you'll pay more for having the Saab logo versus buying a functionally identical AC Delco purchased at K-Mart.
FWIW, the PF-53 is a very good standard-quality filter. The UPF-53, a synthetic-fiber variant, is about triple the price of the stantard fare at $9, but is a top-drawer product. Other high-end offerings are the Mobil 1 and Amsoil, both at about $10. As is the case with their oil, the Mobil 1 is the easiest to find, obtainable most anywhere.
