Hi !
RED cassette has got a DC spark.
We have two different RED cassettes:
a) With pigtail and two 4-pin connectors. (used on DI and DI/APC)
b) With 10 pin connector at the cassette. (used on Trionic T5)
RED cassette compability:
Cassette "b" can be used with an adapter pigtail to replace cassette "a".
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Then, BLACK cassettes:
BLACK cassettes has got an AC spark, and thus a longer spark duration.
We have two different cassettes:
a) MY/98 and MY/99 (marked: TK 3.4)
b) MY/00-> (marked: TK 3.4D)
BLACK cassette compability:
Cassette "b" can be used replace cassette "a".
NOTE:
Cars with DI or DI/APC can use the BLACK cassette as "Dr Boost's fix".
The longer spark duration will make the engine to run smoother.
Do NOT use BLACK cassette on a T5 car.
Clear as mud ??
