Blower motor - partial success!

Well, I'm giving another shot to replacing the blower motor in my '93 9000CDE. (I posted a few days ago after giving up in frustration...) Went through the same motions as before, still no luck. Decided to really give it a go, and it popped right out!!
Well, the housing disconnected from the car. There ARE in fect 2 clips holding the housing in, low and on each side. Well, there WERE 2 clips. One of them went to clip heaven. I only mangled 2 other clips trying to extract the housing - the aquarium clip in the middle that it screws into, the false bulkhead screw mount on the left side. Extraction was all the more difficult since I couldn't remove the lower heater core hose, since the hose clamp screw was completely inaccessible. But, after 15 or 20 minutes of contortions, it was out.
So, 3 clips, 2 bandaids, and a sore back later, the housing is out of the car and laying on the floor, and the heater core is out. I'm taking a celebratory break, then I'll work on actually changing the motor and reinstalling. I'm sure that will be much easier, now that I'm all experienced and everything...
Thanks for everyone's input, and I'll update later.
