is partly responsible for my cold start problems. It tends to stick a little , and sometimes I can hear it leaking, until it warms up. When I can hear it leaking, the car really bogs down, and somtimes it snaps closed, giving me a surge similar to what you describe.
I always just thought that my (cold weather)cold start bogging was normal; the car certainly runs superbly once its warm. But perhaps Trobinson is right, maybe I should swap out my AMM and see what happens.
I presume that my tepmerature (cold start) sensor is working because the car idles at about 1100 rpm, and I can smell a rich mixture, until the temp needle enters the green. If your car doesn't do this then maybe that's a problem.
