What to watch out for in Turbo operation?

Hi everyone!
I'm a long-time 9000 owner, but am looking at an 89 9000 turbo -- my first turbo if it's good. The car ran well, no smoke at idle, but I didn't have an opportunity to drive it today.
What should I be watching for when asking about the car's history and driving it? As a future turbo owner, are there particular things I should protect myself against?
A brief description of the car is 89 9000 Turbo 5speed, 155k, very sound body and appears to have been very well cared for mechanically. Has a new radiator, new-looking throttle position sensor, turbo bypass valve, and several new-looking turbo plumbing pieces. Again, no idle roughness or fluctuation, nearly-new exhaust, no visible blue smoke.
Thanks in advance for your guidance!
