Nope, no funny belt noises, but that might possible. According to the voltmeter it looked like it was charging fine when I checked over the last few days. The PO did mention that he thought the battery was going south, so he might have killed it, and it does look to be a few years old. Unfortunately I don't have receipts showing it's age, so for peace of mind I might just replace it with a known good one.
Onether question, are the terminals supposed to be towards the engine or away?
