Hi Zeke - thanks for the great info !

Please pardon my skepticism, but I would like to
continue the thread a wee bit, hopefully you will
not mind if I ask for a bit more info....

Quoting your reply, and adding a bit:

"2 - I'd give Jon @ Rumrills' (it's in Orange, MA).
He'll sort you out with a used working unit - he's
very reasonable.
If this is too far for you, I'm sure there's a
salvage yard in Vermont that will help."

Sadly, the only yards that bother with Saabs know
just what a used ACC box can be sold for, and they
do not offer any replacement if it is bad, because
it is electronic/electrical - so it is a catch 22..

"3 - This should be resolved with 2"

I would hope so - but that is why I asked if anyone
rebuilds and/or recalibrates ACC boxes - used is a
chancey thing with delicate electronics...

"4 - You need to get a new heater core - they're $50
from a few of the site sponsors, like eeuroparts. "

OK - this makes me think that your thought is that
mine is leaking into the cabin - is that right ?
Is it possible that this could be the case and a
feller with a super-sensitive nose somehow would not
smell coolant while driving ?
It is at a point where we need to be super careful
of bringing any moisture in with us - summer as well
as winter, and when the A/C did work - coming back
to the car after 45 minutes in a store, with the car
parked in the hot sun, and as soon as the blower came
back on - fogmobile time !!!
But no smell of coolant in the car.
This has made me think that some drain, or vent could
be blocked - I never considered the heater core as a
candidate for this problem though...

All education gratefully appreciated !

mark
