The '91 has a soft balance chain sprocket. If it was not replace the B- chain can fall off and grind stuff up under the timing cover.
The Aero has a good name but the auto tranny is old and tired. The 225 HP have beat it up for the last 150+K. Most likely you are purchasing a Saab because you enjoy spirited driving and the auto tranny may not hold up.
If you're a DIY I would go for the '91 and do some preventive maintence (head gasket,guides, SPROCKET, chains) but only if you get the seller to lower the price to compansate for the cost of these repairs.
IMHO, there are 2 types of Saabs to look at;
Type 1: Cost very little, you prepare for repair
Type 2: You pay a good price but expect maintence records and previous owner's dedication to the car while they owned it
Good Luck,
