As Michael says, the Aero is noticably quicker and corners somewhat better. From my own perhaps distorted perspective, that is the strength and weakness of the Aero. My assumption is that guys interested in the extra power and handling are likely to beat the Aero more than the guy buying the CSE. Granted, this is very much a generalization but I'd keep it in mind when buying.
If you find a CSE and Aero in identical condition, then the Aero will likely be the better ride. I've got both in the '95 year. To be honest, they are very similar cars. The Aero is a bit quicker and does corner better, and is worth a bit more. However the CSE is a great car too, and if a good one comes along grab it without regret.
I think conventional wisdom on this board is that the '95 and up 9k is a bit better than earlier years. If you've been holding on to your 9k for 14 yrs then I'd go for a '97 or '98 so you can get your money's worth!
Also believe there is an Aero board that has been mentioned on this board several times in the past. Do a search for 'Aero board' to review those discussions and get the address.
