Help - Fuel pump replacement snafu..

I changed the Fuel pump on my wife's 1989 9000CD, in the process, I managed to break the return line 90deg plastic connector that attaches to the fuel tank. Is it possible to get one from the junk yard or a new one and connect it to the the return fuel line with a short fuel injection hose and 2 clamps? The problem is that the fuel hose is a stiff plastic that connects to the plastic piece and can not be disconncted. Has anyone had this prolem. Any ideas on how to fix it? I prefer not to replace the whole fuel line back to the engine.
TIA
Tony
