One problem, return valve cannot be bought seperate Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] (#112) [Profile/Gallery] (more from SWEDECAR) on Mon, 26 May 2003 08:56:17 In Reply to: Help - Fuel pump replacement snafu.., TG, Sun, 25 May 2003 14:29:49 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
If you go with a used one, that will work but you risk breaking that one too when pushing it into the plastic pipe.
DO NOT try to clamp a hose to the old line since that is a bad way of repairing a fuel line (the plastic line might collapse and come apart) and you don't want to put an extra restriction into the line to stiffen up the sidewalls.
For some reason, Saab have never carried the return valve as a part (only the whole return line with valve attached).
The pressure line back flow valve on the other hand, can be bought and installed using a brake line flaring tool as a holder on the plastic line while pushing the valve in.
Buy the pressure line check valve (P/N 4161766) from Saab and remove the check ball and spring in the end, and use it as a return fitting.
DO NOT install it on the return line without removing check ball and spring.
