Glad to hear you have one of the "lucky" '98's!!!!!!
It seems like as this debate goes on, the more '98 owners report that they also have the '97 Aero suspension, I wonder if the few initial reports of '98 owners not having it might have be incorrect. Why would Saab put the special suspension into only certain '98's? I have a good feeling ALL '98's have it. And as I stated, it had nothing to do with VIN# (meaning, when the car was manufactured).
As for the Aero seats (which the '98 does NOT have), the rear is heavily sculpted. It's basically a 2-person rear seat given the high-bolstering of the bottoms of both sides, rendering the center of it uncomfortable. And I can see why people who have the Aero rear seats complain about not being able to push them all the way down when lowering the backrest (to gain more luggage area). My CSE rear seats are tough to push down (thank goodness for the little clips to hold them down in place!), so I can imagine how much more difficult it is for the Aero-style.
But, the Aero seats are awesome! I've seen that interior and wish I had it in mine. Though, to get the best of both worlds, install Aero front seats, and leave the backseats as a CSE...
And as for owning another '98, since they're becoming harder to find (especially with low miles in good condition), don't narrow yourself to just the 5-speed. Get an auto, pop in a re-mapped ECU, shift the tranny like a stick, and you will be more than delighted with the amount of sheer power that vehicle will have!!!!
