...about this. He has a 9000 similar to mine: 'green giant' injectors, MapTun software, JT 3" exhaust, modified/removed snorkel on the intake, etc. The only difference is he has the Stratmosphere BPV, whereas I have a TurboXS. They're both piston designs. However, I ordered the Hyperboost for him and, IIRC, it was ordered with a special, blue spring, capable of handling higher boost pressures (our boost peaks @ 1.65 bar). The Hyperboost was originally designed for the Audi set, and I don't think they run boost pressures quite as high as the Saabs' will. I had to pack 3 or 4 washers under the spring in my valve, otherwise it would bleed @ peak boost. However, I notice very little lag with my set-up, and if one is aware of the way the software regulates boost, one can adjust the driving style so that the rpms are kept at a level that makes the lag issue moot. For example, with the software that Fredrik put in my T5, boost is @ 1.3 bar @ 2k rpms, in 3rd,4th, or 5th. In 2nd it's a little lower, enough that if I get agressive, it won't kill my tranny. It goes to 1.65 bar @ 3.5k and stays there 'til 4.5k rpm. At 5k rpm it's down to 1.45 bar. I really don't think that lag is an issue for me because I'm very conscious of what my rpms are at all times - I tend to watch the tach much more than I watch the boost gauge! I guess my point is, one has to adjust their driving style to the specifics of the software that is installed - once those parameters are known, then it's matter of using the proper gear and rpms to overcome the lag issues.
