As an option. I don't own one Posted by Ari [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Yowsa! Ari? The V40??!!, Jules, Thu, 24 Jul 2003 14:20:42 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
No, I didn't opt for the V40. I did seriously consider one a few years back, but my driveway is still Volvo-free.
I've just about run through my supply of '88Turbos, and am looking for a hauler. The ideal for me (and would make my wife delirously happy) would be a 97-98 9000. But if you're looking for a recent model or new car to buy that could 'replace' a 9000, things get tough. The only thing I see that is close to a 9K is a small wagon. I keep telling myself that a Focus wagon really isn't that bad, then I pass out, and when I come to, I'm all better. Yeah, maybe Fords are better now, but the only domestic car I ever owned, a Sable, was worse than all my Fiats put together.
A Passat wagon is OK, but until they install seats that don't feel like they came from my 3rd grade cafeteria, I'll pass. And the 1.8T is just a little small for the wagon, and the V6 is a hair expensive for what you get. An Audi wagon would be nice, but I can't bring myself to pay that much.
When I park a 9K next to other cars, I'm shocked at how small it is. Small, until I open it up to put things in.
So don't fear. No V**vo yet. Probably a later 9000. Maybe a NG900.
