I replaced the SRS computer in my 1993 Aero last night with one from a car that had the SRS light off... and my SRS light is still on. I'm wondering
if the SRS light just tells the dash to turn on the light at some
point when a fault is encountered... (ie there is no continuous
signal from the computer saying "light on".) So I can put in a new
computer and the light stays on until Tech II tells it to go away.

In any case I am visiting the dealer this evening to have them turn
it off, and we'll see if it stays off.

My car is a 1993 (driver airbag only). The computer that was in my
car shows in the parts book as 1994-1998 SRS Computer, with a change
up to a new number. The one I bought shows as a 1992-1993 item, with
a change up to the SAME new number. SO they now have one computer
1992-1998 - I guess it is smart enough to tell if there is supposed
to be a passenger bag or not.
