Actually, he first told me that it sounds like a clogged/fried cat. He said that in certain instances, if the primary O2 sensor is faulty, it can cause the ECU to play with the mixture, which in turn could screw up the cat.

If the cat was clogged, then the turbo could not spin since there would be too much back pressure, causing my no-boost condition.

But, I told him I disconnected the "W" hose from the BPC, and drove VERY CAREFULLY to see if I had any boost, and sure enough, I had plenty! He then said in that case, my cat is more than likely okay since exhaust was making it through it.

He also told me that function if the 2nd O2 sensor is to maintain a "flat-line". It does NOT compare the exhaust mixture coming out of the cat to the readings of the first as it goes in. That's a big misconception. He said the 2nd sensor just looks for a constant reading, and feeds that back to the ECU. It does not make the ECU adjust anything; the 1st one does that. So even if I had a clogged cat, the 2nd sensor would still show a constant mixture (even though it's a bad one), and that would not trigger a fault code. So this nixes my idea that maybe the 2nd one is bad, and that I'm barking up the wrong tree.

Also, I noticed there is a fuse in the cabin fusepanel for the O2 sensor. It doesn't say which one. Why in the world is there a fuse for this sensor? That would indicate that before the wiring goes to the ECU, it DOES pass through the bulkhead since it feeds to the fuse panel. Does this spell out anymore testing I should be doing?

BTW: thanks for your clarification, Eric! I know now how to hook it all up. I don't blame him; he probably said exactly what you wrote. I may have had a brain-fart at the moment.

Anyone know the pin # at the ECU for the primary O2 sensor feed????!!!!

Joe
