If the T.C. does go, you're looking at a rebuilt head if not a replacement motor depending on your local parts availability/pricing, local access to good mechanical service or your own DIY-ness. Not sure what a motor transplant (from another wreck) might be worth, but then you'd be dealing with yet another motor with its own wear & tear issues. I changed my T.C., guides, tensioner, balance shaft chain and tensioner at 168k km when it was rattling very loud. My mech saw that the T.C. was already stretched to the max limit and the guides and tensioner were worn bad.
As for your tranny, check this board for previous postings (lots) on how to maximize the longevity, like changing the ATF frequently, not shifting into neutral when you come to lights & stop signs, etc. With due care and sensible driving style, your tranny may never fail. My tranny went at 160k km only because the PO drove it hard and didn't change ATF frequently.
Good luck.
