I agree with TRJ, Kathy...they are taking you for a big ride..maybe if you dressed up as a man you might get better service. What type of dollars are they talking about...The AIC valve on my car is made by BOSCH and is available from a shop called REPCO in Australia for $A300 as opposed to the SAAB one (EXACTLY the same...the one from saab is $520..but it does come with a disposable SAAB plastic bag to wrap the BOSCH box in, ha ha)...
Find out the part number of your AIC valve and shop around...also don't forget to bargain with whoever sells it..I always get money off the RRP just by asking.
As for the 'broken throttle hose connection' ask for an exact description of the work...ask for the part number of the +$700 and check it out. I have trouble even imagining what they are talking about. Tell them you want to have an independant explanation of the work they have done.
