Just terrific. I come home for the weekend, get to drive my baby around. Then when we're coming back, Toyota truck in front of me has to stop suddenly, I notice too late, stomp on brakes, and somehow they lock up and we go under the bumper of the truck. The road was wet, and I didn't notice him stopping at first, but I still don't understand how the brakes could have locked like that. I've mashed the brakes for emergency stops ranging from deer to other cars much harder before, and the saab never complained! BUT regardless...

As I said before, we went under the bumper of the truck. By the time we hit, I must of only been going 10-15 MPH. We both pull off the road. His chrome bumper has two TINY dings (but still, he was nice about it, it was a new, mint truck) while my poor 9000 has both headlights busted, both side markers broken, grill is smashed to bits, and hood is crumpled up into almost 40 degree angle. We didn't exchange insurance info, figured we can fix it easier (& cheaper) without them.

The car still runs great, didn't hurt the radiator or anything mechanical. This Saab never did have a good body, the doors are rusted beyond repair, and the fenders are almost there too, but.. And the saddest thing of all? There was another black 9000 near us, selling for $50! The auto tranny in it was crap, but the body was perfect. But at the time it didn't seem wise to get another parts car (my 900 parts car is sitting in one of my grandparent's fields). Hindsight is 20/20.

Now that I'm back at college I can't fix the poor beast immediately, and we didn't want to put a lot of money into it considering the rust. It was just a go-between until a cherry aero (snicker snicker) after college.
