Since you didn't say what year 9k you have, I can only assume this advice may be pertinant. Yes, my first thought would be to take the headlamp relay board apart, these are known to fail. Simply remove the assembly, then carefully cut the 'welded' seam along the bottom, I used a dremel. Remove the cover and inspect the circuit board, usually there is a 'cold solder joint' which means, that the soldered connection has cracked or broken at the point of soldering to the board. If you find one, simply re-solder and test. If it works then you can reassemble the cover, and glue it together with super glue or silicone, or even re-plastic weld it if you like, so long as it is water tight. If this doesn't work, then I would go after the switch.
